Municipal Ribbon Rules

1 § Karamalmin aineopiskelijat KaMA ry’s municipal ribbon is dark blue with a silver glitter stripe
(2 mm) in the middle and a purple stripe (4 mm) immediately next to the silver, symmetrically on
both sides. The total width of the ribbon is 30 mm.

2 § Current and former full members and honorary members of KaMA ry are entitled to wear the
sash.

3 § The municipal ribbon is worn

  1. as a ribbon from the right shoulder across the chest down to the left, with a formal suit or dark suit, under the jacket and waistcoat and over the tie, or
  2. as a rosette* on the left lapel of the suit.

The municipal ribbon must not touch bare skin.

4 § The municipal ribbon is worn at academic celebrations and Independence Day celebrations.


5 § If a person who is not a member of the association participates in an academic ceremony or
Independence Day celebrations on behalf of KaMA ry, they may be granted temporary
permission to wear the sash for the duration of the event.


6 § Wearing more than three sashes without a specific reason is not recommended. At KaMA ry
events and when representing KaMA, the KaMA ry sash is worn on top.


7 § If a ribbon is lost, permanently stained, or broken, the recipient has the right to redeem a
new one.


8 § The board meeting may decide that the right to wear the ribbon shall be granted at the
annual celebration to a person who has actively promoted the association’s activities but who
would not otherwise be entitled to wear it.

* The rosette is formed from a half-meter-long ribbon by folding it into two loops (the lower loop
is wider and the upper loop is slightly narrower) on both sides and passing the rest of the ribbon
around them in the middle.
